I hit a wall in Sardinia! Figuratively, of course. The fatigue started while in Naples, but after having to call the police 3 times to get the landlord to stop letting herself into the apartment I rented, uninvited and without notice – I was done, and truly learned the meaning of travel burnout.

I will definitely write another post about the police ordeal in more detail in a later post, but while on my morning jog along the gorgeous coastline in Barcelona this morning I remembered why I originally wanted to start a travel journal – it was to share the ins/outs, highs/lows of my travel experiences – the good, bad, and ugly. Which I haven’t been doing!
One thing about blogging that most people (not me, in other words) do not know before starting is that there is SO much more to it than just writing fun stories. If you want people to actually discover your blog and see it, read it, and ideally love it, there’s SEO to learn, photos to edit, reels to post, social media to conquer, website formatting to figure out… and the list goes on!
So when is there time for writing?!?
It feels like never. Ha 🙂 But I’m not giving up, I am literally living my dream, which I’m not sure many people get the opportunity to do, so I am committed to sharing my experiences in the hopes of inspiring as many people as possible to be bold and take a chance to live their dreams too!
On that note, I can’t promise that I will be writing here in the travel journal more frequently, but I am going to endeavor to try (posts will probably just be shorter, more unrefined, etc). There are so many stories to share, like recently deciding to move to Barcelona and what the visa process is like. Or getting asked out on a date by a 30 year hottie from Argentinia, sweating so much in a Barre class that my sweat literally flung across the room (SO gross, and SO embarrassing!!). These are just the tip of the iceburg. So please stay tuned for more. Soon, I swear, I hope. 🤔 🤩 😘
Biggest hugs, xoxo
ChaCha
I forgot to mention, I’m rebranding!! Lately I have been feeling very passionate about writing about midlife, in addition to writing my travel stories. So… I have changed the name of my blog from ChaCha Travels to LaChaCha. Otherwise, everything else has stayed the same.

Packing can be stressful, especially when you’re going on a month-long trip. But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Check out my recommendations for the perfect packing list, so you can travel stress-free and in style!
1. Comfortable Walking Shoes: Most likely you’ll be walking a lot, so make sure you have comfortable shoes to keep your feet happy. I love sneakers, they go with everything from shorts to dresses – I buy one new pair every year, this year’s fave are Converse Chuck Taylor® All Star® Lift Low Top Leather Sneaker. ❤️
2. Universal Travel Adapter: Don’t let a dead phone or computer ruin your trip. Bring a universal travel adapter so you can stay connected.
3. Packing Cubes: These will make organizing your luggage a breeze.
4. Lightweight Jacket: Even if you’re traveling to a warm destination, it’s always a good idea to pack a lightweight jacket for those unexpected chilly nights.
5. First Aid Kit. Accidents happen, so pack a compact first-aid kit with essentials like adhesive bandages, pain relievers, and allergy medicine.
